Fix A Flat $4.00 Tester Grade: B
Almost all of us have been there before — or worried about being there — stranded on the side of the road with a flat tire. Fix A Flat says worry no more...if you have this: Sound of car driving over a pothole You don't need us to tell you what potholes can do to your tires. Here at Adirondack Tire in Clifton Park....they're getting a flood of customers with flats from potholes now — plus the usual other things. Take it from manager Lenny Billings. Lenny Billings/Adirondack Tire: "We've had a few come in completely shredded. There was nothing left. They must have driven it from Albany." Like this one. But while there's no hope if your tire looks like this shredded one... Lenny pointing to tire: "That's a leak right there..." If your tire is leaking like this one.... Lenny spraying liquid to show air bubbles coming out: "Air is escaping the tire." ...Fix A Flat says it's your "spare tire in a can." Because — with no jack or tools — it can seal the tire in minutes. Lenny Billings: "This one is non-flammable which is good." Lenny let air out of the leaking tire he had...to make it more like a flat. Then he followed directions: Lenny Billings: "Thread this on to the valve." And pushed the button. Lenny: "And when it's on the vehicle you'll see the tire actually rising." Fix A Flat says you should drive the vehicle two to four miles to spread the sealant out inside your tire. Sound of putting tire on machine So Lenny duplicated that movement on this machine. And in the end.... Lenny: "It's sealed." No air bubbles...so no leak anymore. This tire expert said it couldn't hurt anybody to carry this in their car. Lenny Billings: "It's good emergency use to keep it in your vehicle to get you someplace to get it professionally looked at." With all the potholes around these days, he says, you can't afford not to be ready for the worst.
