SeeYu Petrotech Odor Eliminator $12.00 Tester Grade: D-
Do you want to say "See you!" to stubborn odors in your house? Well, "Seayu Petrotech Odor Eliminator" says you can. We put it to the test with a Watervliet woman who faces all kinds of smells: Sound of dog barking Between Buffy....14-month-old Jessie...and 12-year-old Joe... Sound of mom kissing son Elisebeth Stamer's got a lot going on in her Watervliet home. And that means she's got a lot of smells going on too. Elisebeth Stamer: "All this stuff is what I use almost every single day...Pine Sol, Febreeze, Clorox." She's tried just about everything... Elisebeth Stamer: "This is actually an industrial one." So...Elisabeth says...all the money she spends on these cleaners really doesn't pay off. Because when everyone's home — including her construction worker husband and her cat — it's too much to bear. Elisebeth Stamer: "I sit here and go ughh." We gave Elisebeth this...the "Seayu Petrotech Odor Eliminator." Elisebeth Stamer: "It says the nose knows and that would be me." For 12 bucks...Seayu claims to do more than mask odor. It promises to eliminate it — in the air or on wood, carpet or upholstery. Sound of spraying Elisebeth hit one of her stinkiest spots first...the place where Buffy sleeps under their bed. Elisebeth Stamer: "I don't smell the dog...so what do you think? I think it smells like a deep fryer but it works." The next spot? Elisebeth Stamer: "The baby's room...always smells like baby sweat, diapers." She sprayed away....and then: Elisebeth Stamer: "It smells like oil." After treating the kitty litter.... Elisebeth Stamer: "You don't smell cat. You smell oil." And she wasn't too happy when that oil...seemed to stain her couch. So...Elisebeth went back to where she started. Elisebeth Stamer/Watervliet: "Honestly, I'm still going to use my Pine Sol, my my Clorox, my Febreeze, because it smells good." In the end, she said the only people she'd recommend the product to are those with pets who can't find anything to knock out the smell... Elisebeth Stamer: "If you're looking to freshen up your home though...Nats sound." Well, from the sounds of that you probably won't be surprised to hear Elisabeth gave the product a letter grade of D minus. By the way...she says she had to shampoo her rug to get the oil smell out and wash her couch slipcover to get the stains out.
