CBS 6 News maintains a long tradition as the Capital Region’s leading news station, and Mary Beth Wenger is an excellent reason why.

Since joining CBS 6 in 1981 as a reporter, Mary Beth has done an outstanding job covering a variety of stories. She now focuses her reporting on Berkshire County, covering Pittsfield, North Adams, Great Barrington and other towns around the county.

Born and raised in Saugerties, New York, Mary Beth began her career with an internship at a public television station covering the Georgia Legislature while attending the University of Georgia at Athens. After earning her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism-Broadcast News, she went to work for WLFI-TV in Lafayette, Indiana. Starting as a reporter/weekend anchor she was quickly promoted to weekday anchor of both the 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts before leaving to join CBS 6.

Mary Beth is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and enjoys cross-country skiing, cooking and traveling in her spare time.
